Who is backup quarterback for dallas

Cowboys quarterback Dak Prescott is out for Sunday night's matchup vs. Rush, who is in his second stint as backup of the Cowboys, is getting his first career start on Sunday night after attempting just three passes in his NFL career — none of which have come in the last three years.

Things might get a little scary for Dallas on Halloween night if Rush isn't up to the task. The year-old Rush is in his second stint as Cowboys backup, originally signing up to back up Dak Prescott in The former starting quarterback of the Central Michigan Chippewas, the four-year starter was one of the school's most prolific passers, ranking second in touchdown passes 67 and third in yards 9, and completions Rush went undrafted in , eventually signing on to back up Dak Prescott following the draft.

Having another body in the building can only help the Cowboys and keeps the team protected in case of emergency. SI TIX. Home Dallas Cowboys News. There's a new quarterback in town.

Is there a new backup for Dak Prescott? By Mike Fisher. By Richie Whitt. By Jeremy Brener. By Timm Hamm. That is not a shot as Lock has some very intriguing tools. The Cowboys would be forced to keep a third quarterback until Lock gets up to speed on the playbook. Drew Lock is entering his third year and is on a second-round contract. Lock had his completion percentage drop from his rookie year and although he did throw 15 touchdowns last season, he threw 16 interceptions.

Not a good selling point but that could be used against Denver in trade negotiations. I would be interested in Lock and would even consider sending a third-round pick for him although I would be more comfortable with a fourth.

That is if Denver even wants to deal him. There were some very interesting trade rumors revolving around Lock and Carson Wentz. Just like pitchers in baseball, I would try and acquire a quarterback in almost every draft. If they become available in free agency or through trades, it makes just as much sense to me.

Lock himself is an ultra-sure athlete who has a cannon of a right arm. Knowing that he is coming into a situation to learn rather than play could be exactly what he needs. I know we get excited every time a hint someone can become available but this is one that makes sense. I would not mind if it got complicated with Drew lock in the quarterback room.
